Jeep Rally!

I can’t thank Commemorative Air Force Utah Wing, Colonial Flag, Queen of Wraps and of Course Kaiser Willys enough for their support for our campaign.  This was a fun event and all the particpants were very generous and so very nice.  I sure hope to see many of them again this year and perhaps during my cross country trip! Enjoy the video and stay in touch everyone.  If you didn’t make this event make the next one.  Ohra…

Special Thanks to Otis for the drone/video work at Brokenbranchez Productions!  BTW that is Otis’s Jeep right there in Battle Ship Gray.

M38 competition for the Captain's M38
Many lookers from new paint to rustic patina Jeeps are awesome no matter how you drive them.
This V6 1966 CJ5'er started out feeling like an outsider with those civilian round fenders...but that ended fast we all love Jeeps!
As a matter of fact the Captain was compelled to "Duck" the CJ Jeep after reminicing the good old days when he owned a 1967 Cj5.
I wish all the Jeeps had made the drive but some had other places to be down the road! Maybe next time after seeing the video they will run with us.
We even took the time to run by the working Vintage Steam train museum "Heber Creeper Rail.
Doug and the Dummy was freaking everyone out...
Everyone voted for their favorite Jeep and Doug won this time. His Jeep was very pretty and very clean a little to clean, but a win is a win! Check her out!
A break from the guns, the paratroopers, and grunts here is a recruiter's Jeep
No wonder it is spotless!
Little Glory takes a back seat on this day to the older pretty WW2 Jeep winner today.

Paul, Idaho July 19th

A great time was had during my visit to Paul, Idaho and the Les Schwab tire dealer.  This independantly owned location at Paul, ID is owned by the Twiss family and they sponsored Gartforvets.org with (4) new tires for Little Glory.  After meeting and greeting everyone at the dealership, it was time to go out and meet the public.  This also gave the Captain and Little Glory a chance to get a look at a section of the trail which will be used during the cross country trip next year.

The Twiss family owned location at Paul, Idaho
Its all about family at this Les Schwab in Paul. The Twiss family has owned and operated this store when Les Schwab himself was building the business. Hard work, genuine concern and love for their customers and their employees.
Fellow Marine Corps Veteran who works at the Twiss family's Les Schwab dealer.
The drive up to Idaho is a nice ride and Idaho truly is beautiful country
Meeting veterans while out and around Paul, Idaho, I met a Navy Seal retired.
Some of the many employees who call this location home.
One shoe at a time
Nothing like a new set of tires.
Almost ready to roll
Out and around the little town there is so much history. I love small town America.
Patriotic homes everywhere like this one
Brenda and Brian in front of their patriotic home.
Outside of Paul, Idaho little towns rich in history and will be in the area of the cross country trip.
Along the RR tracks East of Paul we will pass here for sure next year
Little Glory and the Captain will be all over this area next year and we will have an event at the tire dealer n town
Face time in the wind on recon of the trail once blazed by Col. Horatio Nelson Jackson
You must take the time to take in tthe history of wherever you find yourself. Here in Idaho prisoners of war from WW2 where kept here in camps.
Little Glory taking in the history
Always taking the time to visit our memorials for our veterans
Patriots who served our country and thereafter never stop serving and giving of themselves for our country
Very well done this memorial and thousands like them stand in most all little towns. Please take the time to visit them and reflect on the sacrifices of so many on our behalf.
Getting the bugs out we had a Gremlin incident. But nothing this Motor T guy couldn't handle.
The culperate a made in China junk pump! Sorry about that guys and gals. I'm using an electric pump to avoid vapor locks.
Sadly before this trip would be in the books we hd another enemy Gremlin attack. Yes while towing Little Glory Home we had a new tire failure. Firestone and Kaiser Willys to the rescue they will warranty the tire.
No matter there are Patriots everywhere to meet even when broken down with a bad tire there is time to meet them all. This Patriot Austin came in time to help the Captain with a good jack to make a swift tire change.
More memorials t stop at on my way home American Falls
Again Patriots who served and never stopped serving we need to honor and remeber them all
More history along the way the Oregon trail ran through this area
Very cool memorial and remonder of our fighting men here in Malad, Idaho.
Would love to have this in my yard
Very well done Malad! This was beautiful.
Just have to stop whenever possible

Thank You Beau Twiss and the Twiss Family at Les Schwab Tire Paul, Idaho!  “I’ll be back”….

Family Update

Army, Marines, Navy, family update!

Now here this… Arne and Suzanne have followed up with the Captain as ordered.  Check these photos out!

Ladies first Suzanne before she met Arne in the Army. Suzanne is the good looker second row from the front 2nd one in from the left. Classic photo love it.
Now Arne a single guy before he met the love of his life in the Army! I can't pick him out! I'm sure he will give me an update when we meet again, I don't want to guess. Can you pick him out see below.
Ok I'm going to say top row but thats all let me know what you think.
Arne's father WW2 Marine who served in the Pacific. His Dad top row 4th fomr the right.
Classic boot camp graduation photo every Marine cherishes. All Privates look at those old salts in center Sergeant and Private First Class I winder where they all went and served. Were that at Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima, Tarawa, god knows and how many made it home?
Like many famlies of that time Arne's Dad and his two brother's all served in WW2. Here is Arne's Dad in the middle of his two Navy Brothers. All came home.
Super classic war time photo. Arne doesn't know where this photo was or what unit Dad served. But looking at it very few Marines wore the "Frog" camo trousers his dad is wearing. Was he a Raider? I'm not sure. From boot to combat veteran in the middle of it all in the Pacific.
This is not his Dad but the sign is where his Dad served. Not sure if this is a local logo to a Company or area of operations for a campaign, but it is a clue.
Now this is cool beans! We don't know if Arne's Dad wrote this or copied is or what but this is a cool WW2 war time peak at history and service branch rivalry. Thanks to Arne the Army hahah for sharing his Dad's memorabilia from WW2.

Suzanne's Dad US Navy

Green Berets

Captain meets the Green Berets.  Big, strong and young.  This is the best of the best.  America’s strength is reflected in great men like this.  Meet Albert.  He is not just Army strong he is a Green Beret.  What an honor to meet Albert and his wife.  Both have served us since 2004.  Yes, she is the support network behind Albert who is and has been on the front lines.  Albert did a tour in “The Crack” of Iraq 2004-05 and in Africa 2019.  Albert serves with the 19th Special Forces and he will retire in 2024 at the very top of our mighty enlisted ranks as a Sergeant First Class.  I hope to see Albert and his wife again at future events.  Albert presented the Captain with his Special Forces pin that I will carry with me when I cross the United States for our veterans.  Check it out below.  Thank You Albert.

Marines Army no difference we all serve with honor and pride.
Special Forces pin in latin reads "to free from oppression" the motto of those who serve to defend freedom.

VFW State Commander US Navy

VFW State Commander Therral Curtis.  Pleasure meeting our VFW representative.  Therral served us all in the US Navy and did the whole nine yards as we say, retired US Navy.  Thank You Chief for your support and for promoting and leading our VFW.  We have so much work to do to keep our veterans cared for, appreciated and engaged.  Our mission puts our veterans first, and seeks to promote patriotisim, love of country and our history of which our veterans are so much apart of. Therral was kind enough to present the Capatain with his challenge coin and Commander’s pin.
