Tradgedy needs our Prayers

This tragedy happens time and again and those who serve us all face the threat everyday. May God help us all carry on. For many life will never be the same. Pray for those who suffer the most. God be with us all…

An Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office corporal suffered fatal injuries on Christmas Eve after being shot while responding to a domestic violence incident on North Park Boulevard near the Green Acres Road neighborhood.

Five year OCSO veteran Cpl. Ray Hamilton, a member of the OCSO Special Response Team, succumbed to the shooting injury shortly after 3 p.m. yesterday at Fort Walton Beach-Destin Hospital. The suspect, 43-year old Timothy Price-Williams, was hit with return fire from deputies, sustaining an injury to the arm that was not life threatening.

“We are devastated by the grief of losing Corporal Hamilton, a deputy who was a ray of sunshine in the OCSO, dedicated to protecting others,” Sheriff Eric Aden said in a statement. “We appreciate the endless stream of words of support that have come in for his family and his co-workers as we face this heartbreaking loss of a profoundly loved and respected friend, public servant, and hero.”
