Tradgedy needs our Prayers

This tragedy happens time and again and those who serve us all face the threat everyday. May God help us all carry on. For many life will never be the same. Pray for those who suffer the most. God be with us all…

An Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office corporal suffered fatal injuries on Christmas Eve after being shot while responding to a domestic violence incident on North Park Boulevard near the Green Acres Road neighborhood.

Five year OCSO veteran Cpl. Ray Hamilton, a member of the OCSO Special Response Team, succumbed to the shooting injury shortly after 3 p.m. yesterday at Fort Walton Beach-Destin Hospital. The suspect, 43-year old Timothy Price-Williams, was hit with return fire from deputies, sustaining an injury to the arm that was not life threatening.

“We are devastated by the grief of losing Corporal Hamilton, a deputy who was a ray of sunshine in the OCSO, dedicated to protecting others,” Sheriff Eric Aden said in a statement. “We appreciate the endless stream of words of support that have come in for his family and his co-workers as we face this heartbreaking loss of a profoundly loved and respected friend, public servant, and hero.”

Meet Sgt. Stanfel USMC

Sgt. Stanfel is a  Marine veteran, fellow Jeep owner (1963 Willys) and supporter of Gartforvets in the Toledo Area of Operations (TAO). Sgt. Stanfel served us all from 1968 – 1972, serving state side and overseas at Okinawa, Japan.  Besides earning the EGA and basic training as a Marine, he served as a court reporter within the Judge Advocates Corps. Pictured below, we were all young once.  Nevertheless just as much a Marine as ever.  Ohra.

There is more to this Veteran’s story.  Respect for our military, veterans, our nation, and our history starts at home. Sgt. Stanfel comes from a family of military service to us all.  Sgt. Stanfel’s father and uncle served in WW2 and one did not make it home.  The good Sergeant’s own grandson is a veteran as well.  Below we honor the good Sergeant’s father and Uncle who served us during WW2.

Sgt. Stanfel's father decorated survivor of WW2. Staff Sergeant Stanfel US Army. 60th Armored Infantry European theater.
Sgt. Stanfel's uncle brother to his dad, T-3rd class Edward Stanfel lost his life in the north Africa campaign during WW2. May we never forget his service and sacrifices.

We have a winner!

Marine Veteran Cpl. Bass who attended the informal Marine Birthday cake cutting celebration on November 10th has come away with the highest bid for the Gartfovets Henry Rifle.

The Rifle has traveled over 4500 miles with me to over 50 events since May 20, 2022, in support of Gartforvets.org.

The Capatin is happy that a fellow Marine stepped up to bid and win this commemorative Golden Boy Henry rifle honoring all our military services. The rifle auction will help support the campaign to cross the USA May 23 to July 26, 2023, in order to raise funds for T2T.org.

The rifle a .22 caliber limited commemorative rifle has all the military services represented on the forestock and old glory on the buttstock.  With engraving on the receiver she is all American and top quality.  I love the slogan Henry uses that saysMade in America or not made at all“.

Captain Montefusco presents the Henry rifle to Corporal Bass..Ohra!

Gone but never forgotten

My deepest condolences to Ray’s entire family. It pains me to think that we have lost such a good man.  Ray was the best of the best. A solid man of service and loyalty to everyone he met. A Marine through and through. I will never forget our mutual passion to “take care of one of our own” when Ray stepped up without a second thought to help honor one of our own Marines who served us all in WW2.  At age 98, LtCol Shaffer was honorably recognized by Ray and two dozen fellow Marines at LtCol. Shaffer’s home.  Oh what a day it was.  LtCol Shaffer was in his Dress Blues at age 98.  We all had a slice of Marine cake and one “1775 Ale” beer each.  Ray made LtCol Shaffer’s world light up and I had the honor to meet such a Marine as Ray who loves our Marine Corps as much as I do. A mentor to many and a great man who never stopped serving others and most of all our great nation.  Semper Fidelis, Ray, please watch over all of us as we await our time to join you.

It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of Forrest ‘Huff’ Huffstetler.

Mr Huffstetler, member of H company 505 PIR, made combat jumps into Italy, Normandy on D-Day and Holland during Operation Market Garden and saw action during the Battle of the Bulge.

Rest In Peace, sir!

Little Glory and Custom Modern Jeep

Now this is nice. Meet Brent and Amanda's custom named and built CJBA . A 1994 YJ with 1 ton Ford Axels, military 37 inch rims and tires off our Hummers. She has custom suspension and custom built bumpers and winch set up. Very nice ride that deserved a ducking from the Captain. Super great folks from Wyoming and we shall meet again when I come through in Little Glory next June, 2023. Great supporters of our Military and First Responders.
Proud builder Brent, check out how nice those Hummer wheels and tires look and fit with those 1 ton axels in place.
Custom built ready to go
Great looking ride and I enjoyed meeting and speaking with Brent and Amanda in Wyoming. Thank you for your support.

Willys meets Willys

Meet Rex, a fellow Willys Jeep man and vintage car guy. Besides his great all original 48 CJ2A, look at his awesome FC150. Rex, loves history and supports our military and first responders. I met Rex in Wyoming and we will meet again when I come through in June of 2023. Rex will be one of my main contacts in organizing an event when I come through Kemmerer and Diamondville, Wyoming.
Fantastic and all original. You just don't see these around too much.
Great shape inside and out.
Just so cool to look at and see these tough old trucks.
