Never ever forget 9/11

This is the one of the most difficult weeks for all Americans. All Americans have a connection to that tragic day on earth when we all witnessed what evil humans would do to others.  But we also witnessed what humans would do for one another when confronted by such evil.  I pray that those I spoke with these last days at events I attended get through this week.  But that the young people I spoke with who were to young to remember or did not live through that day learn just what happen.  As painful as it is, we must tell what happen and we must share those experiences with future generations.  Sharing and  remembering those tragic days not only help us all heal but it should  unite our spirits of strength in unity as one.  As it has been said and I believe united we stand divided we fall we are Americans and that should say it all.  May god bless those lost and those who live today to tell what happen and who must continue to heal from what happen that day.  God Bless keep the faith.

I know it is hard to watch but share it and talk to those who need to know what happen and all that changed that day.  The good the bad and the ugly.  Let us heal, talk and share your feeling about it all.

Outstanding Dedication

You can not put a price on honoring our Gold Star families it is the right thing to do. South Jordan Utah's Honor is clean. What a great effort that was made from start to finish to bring this memorial home.
I beautiful monument one of hundreds being built across our great nation.
We can not state this enough
For all to see and read, I trust that parents will bring their children around to see and teach their family why this is here and what it represents.
Patriots everyone of them, All of those who have been effected by the loss of a loved one in the line of duty.
The dedication was very well done, the speakers were well presented.
Sturdy but with a hole through the granite in the shape of a soluting member of our armed services, it might represent the hole in all of our hearts for the one lost and all those who must go forward without one of their own.
Solemn but with dignity
The memorial is even more touching at night when you are alone with no distractions.
I can not thank the city, the buinesses and individuals who have done so much to make this possible and for the sarifices of the families which this memorial represents. I had to wear my uniform for all those who could not be here in their own uniform.

Take time to remember

Once again always after events, I take the time to find the local memorial to our veterans. No matter how small the town of Magna, Utah is, there is a very nice memorial to our veterans. And yes a few historical items like this recoilless rifle, I think I need that on the roof of Gunship Winnebago.
WW2, Korea and Vietnam. Freedom is not free a memorial to remember all those who did not come home.
To commemorate all of our military branches of our American Armed Forces.
Where would we be without patriotic organizations like the Lions who support projects like this one which stands today from years past.
Just happens this park is right on the route and site of an original Lincoln Highway marker. I love that, the "Lincoln" was the first highway to connect New York to California completed in 1929 but traveled on since 1919. Even the Captain followed this road from New York to Salt Lake City back in 2002 in his 1948 Plymouth P-15 car.
Captain's Plymouth P-15 Lincoln Highway cruiser. Also my wedding car used to take my bride and I from the Church to the reception.
Original plates from 1948 she is just about all stock.
Love these old car interiors, we have owned her for 20 years now.
Few modern gauges to monitor the old girls functions.
Original Re-Elect Truman from 1948. Remember the famous photo of 1948 "Dewey Defeats Truman"
I couldn't resist sharing the historic photo that puts the Plymouth's bumper sticker in context 74 years later. By the way you all know he was a WW1 Army veteran right? But he was not a big fan of the Marine Corps but he ended up eating his own words for things he said about them. At the end of the day he was a politician what do you expect :).

Patriot named Nova

The Captain was the last one to leave the empty field at 6:00 pm. But I am a better man for it. I had the pleasure of meeting this young man. Although he was unable to join the military he is a cool kid. He works security now and thinks a lot like the Captain. He loves American history, our country, and respects those that serve us all in the military and public service. He has plans to see all 50 states via road trips, now you know I love that. We took a drive in Little Glory and he stuck around to help me pack up. Thank You Nova for taking the time to learn all about the mission I am on. I hope to see you again at another event. You are a part of what this entire campaign is all about.

Family of veterans I eagerly await photos of your veterans
Yes I did take 15 minutes to do two rides in the park very cool! But I was on mission I stood my post from open to close which for me was 5:00 am to 10:00 pm. Had dinner at 11:00 pm. It was hot 103!
All the employees were super nice that I met. Many were very interested in what I was doing. What a great bunch of people working at Lagoon.
Few worried faces before the ride no backing out now!
My fire team for the rides. This little patriot had no fear!
There is a future Marine Fighter pilot if I ever saw one. This guy had as much energy as ME!
If only they let us drive in the park we could of had flight training all day long.
My new gang. These hard chargers did one of the rides with me and came to check out the Gunship Winnebago.

Family of Patriots

WW1 to today a family of Veterans

I had the pleasure of meeting Eric and Deanna at the Gartforvets & Kaiser Willys Jeep Rally  August 27th at Heber, Utah. Eric and Deanna traveled in from Colorado to participate with their Flat Fender CJ-3A.  Fantatstic people and very patriotic.  Here they have submitted their family members who have served us all.  This is a family of patriots. From youngest to oldest…

This is Krys, Eric and Deanna's Grandaughter at her graduation from basic in Feb. 2022. Thank you for stepping up to serve us all Krys.
Proud parents of their daughter LIz who served us all in the Navy from 2001 - 2014.
Eric's brother Paul who served and retired from his service to us all with the US Army. Look at all those service stripes he did us all proud.
Now Eric's Dad and Uncle. Arthur Eric's Dad on the right a Sergeant 1st class during the Korean war and his uncle Lorren US Navy.
Now this is Eric's Grandfather Roy Pardew who served us all during WW1. He served in the Navy aboard the USS Oregon. He worked on board as a butcher on the mess decks. Ths photo was taken in 1919 which was an important year in the USS Oregon's service.
Here she is, just awesome commisioned in time to serve during the Spanish American war July, 1898. She was an awesome battle ship which projected American power all over the world.
This photo take at the start of WW1 1914. She seved us well Spanish American War, Philiipinne War, served in China 1903, WW1 time frame she escorted our troops who interviened in the Russian revolution at that time. She then took a break and was decommissioned 1919 after participating in the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco.

Now it gets interesting when WW2 kicks off and thereafter what happens to her and where some of her parts are:

Oregon was redesignated with the hull number IX-22 on 17 February 1941. After the United States entered World War II with the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941, the Navy determined that Oregon ought to be sold for scrap to free resources for the war effort. She was accordingly struck from the Naval Vessel Register on 2 November 1942 and was sold to ship breakers on 7 December. In March 1943, she was towed to Kalama, Washington to be broken up, but after the work began the Navy decided that Oregon would be of use during the planned reconquest of Guam scheduled for mid-1944, either as a storage hulk or as a breakwater. The Navy requested that the breakers stop after the superstructure had been cleared and her internal fittings and equipment had been removed and to return her. She was then loaded with ammunition to support the forces that would invade Guam and towed there as part of the invasion fleet.

The vessel remained moored in Guam through the end of the war in 1945 and for several years thereafter. During this period, on the night of 14–15 November 1948, Oregon broke free from her moorings during Typhoon Agnes and drifted away. After an extensive search, aircraft located the vessel adrift some 500 nmi (930 km; 580 mi) southeast of Guam. The ship was towed back to Guam, and she remained there until 1956, when on 15 March she was sold to Massey Supply Corporation, which in turn resold her to Iwai Sanggo Company of Kawasaki, Japan. She was then towed there and broken up.

Several parts of the ship remain in Portland; her military foremast was erected in 1956 at the Tom McCall Waterfront Park and her wheel is held in the collection of the Oregon Historical Society. Both of her funnels also survive, but are not on public display.

Thank you both for coming out to support my campaign and for following through and forwarding me your family of patriots photos so that I could honor them here.  Friends for life, see you during my trip across America.  Capt. Scott
