Awesome Day Garage Sale!

So the day began with a mission to find an Ax for Little Glory the Jeep.

You know the rules never pass a garage sale!

On the way to a few garage sales where I spotted an ax in the photos I kept stopping at other garage sales I spotted.

First sale I met these awesome patriots. Melissa and Dan. Now we will hear from them again as they have veterans in their family and you know I always ask for photos to post and honor all veterans. They gave me this Classic photo of Lou Gehrig for the wall in the “Eagle Globe and Anchor” Barn. Hope to see them both at a future event of mine.
Next up a garage sale advertised where I saw an Ax in the photos…problem was it was an old add from last week. But they will look and see if they had sold it or not.
Another unplanned stop and Patriots again. Now let me tell you this…her Grandfather was a WW2 Marine and proud of it. I was saddened to hear he passed away last year at age 97. But we will learn about his service as she will send me his photo to post and honor him for his service.
Another patriot! Now Bubba here was between garage sales when I noticed his patriotic decorations on his home. I pulled over and found he too obviously loves our country. He is in full support of my campaign and I am sure to see him at future events, He too will be sending me photos of his family members who are veterans so that we may honor them on this site under “Veteran Encounters.” Enjoyed meeting him very much. He is friends with the owner of Queen of Wraps who is sponsoring the Wrap on the Gartforvets Winnebago! Small world.
Ok now this is when the garage sales gets good. Meet Rex an Air Force veteran who enlisted in 1962. He donated an Ax for Little Glory the Jeep. I can;t thank him enough I love making this Jeep the People’s Jeep I built it but many will complete it! See the awesome Classic inthe background??? want a closer look? Ok…..
Check out Kroger and his kick ass interior. Alegator skin seats. What do you expect from a Louisianna boy. The cool thing is Kroger was at my car show last week and he recognized the Capatain. Seems he very much enjoyed the car show wirh me lat week. Now that makes me feel great. good so we will be getting togethe
Ok at the garage sale I met Johnathan. I conducted my first DUCKING. It is a Jeep thing that Jeep owners do by leaving little rubber ducks on fellow Jeep owners rides.

This Jeep is a 2021 Freedom Edition Jeep. “Oscar Mike” on the move boys and girls. Look at th tribute inside the door..
1941 baby…
Well done Jeep
Invasion star painted.
Little more modern than Little Glory I bet this tears it up out there on the trail.
Now this is Johnathan’s Dad a true patriot as well. Guess what? Remember a few days ago I got a flat with my new tires on Little Glory? I had no jack to raise the jeep and change the tire. Well he dobated a bottle Jack for Kittle Glory! Fantatstic, the people’s Jeep! Thank you so much. Certified patriot check his tattoos out!
America is Freedom
Fantastic!
Ok now after he garage sales we had to make a stop at Home Depot. Thisis where we met Kirk and his awesome Jeep in the background. We both admired one aothers Jeeps. He loves America and I will see him again at future events.
OLd Corps and New Corps 2021 and 1952.
On the way home I pulled over and met this master restoration guy Bill is his name, This truck is cool.
1943 WW2 Navy MH34 International 1.5 ton Dump Truck. Bill has had this truck he recued from the the junk yard. He is doing a top nitch restoration job.
Has big 21″ tires.
American history and American steel.
Old school made new again
I could not resist a stop at the Bentley dealer. But trust me I was not considering any kind of trade in just having fun.
These are some mighty fancy cars and what a beautiful building.

NOW no better way to end a great day then to get a call from this patriot and retired Army soldier Tom. He answered an ad I had on line selling what else but car parts. I am selling all sorts of things to help pay these crazy gas prices to keep my campaign going. Well tom need a set of orginial 1965 VW headlights and buckets. He got them and I had another Veteran encounter!

Tom served us all from from 1988 to 2008. He served with the imfamous 3rd Infantry Divison. Served in Germany, Korea, and Iraq. I am positive we will do some events together because he too is a car guy. look at two of his cars below.

Sgt 1st Class photo here in Iraq with one of Saddam Hussein’s rifles in his palace…hahahah.
Army Kights

Very cool cars. Hope to see Tom soon. Thank you Tom for helping me with my campaign glad you could use the parts I had.
Donated to Little Glory
Installed ready to go!

So ended an awesome day….never pass a garage sale!

Gremlins strike again

Gremlins hit Little Glory while under tow over to Idaho Falls, Idaho for a small event to meet Patriots.
Not good, but we will get her replaced. and get a spare tire. Ohra!

Made a stop in Malda, Idaho what a patriotic little town. Local American Legion, beautuful memorial to all our veterans who lost their lives in defense of freedom.

Not only Little GLory but the Captain’s boot had a blow out! What a crazy couple of day!
Sure glad I got this blow out! Or I would not have met this Patriot Austin. Austin is a hard working Ameirican that gets it. He Loves America, respects our flag, our veterans, and first responders. He usually does service calls and works on truck tractors and trailers but today he pulled off the road to check on and help the Captain. Best part of my day which others would think was my worst day. Nope, it is about meeting people who care about one another and our great country. Thank you, Austin we shall meet again.

Enemy activity encountered

During shakedown cruise with Little Glory’s new pair of boots, we encluntered a skirmish with an enemy Gremlins. Resluting in a temoprary breakdown.

All was well until we made conatct with a few Gremlins minutes later
And then it happen, I don’t know if a Gremlin took a pot shot at me or what but here is what happen next.
All fixed.
He had to get under he had to get under his automobile!
It’s all apart of the trip, Horatio Nelson Jackson had to do these things too…but think about this, hs car was a brand new 1903 modle. At least my Jeep is 70 yeasr old but with new parts. But even new parts fail, and so they have. The Captain was on it with his Motror T skills come through.
Communist Crap pump removed and to be replaced.
Back on the road…lets roll!

Now hear this sports fans! Here my celebratory song of getting back on the road!!!

Turn up the volume!!

Idaho Bound

Finally headed out of town first outside Utah.
One of my favorite stops I always make when headed north to Idaho on the 84 West drive toward Boise
So rustic, so authentic, back in time great American Cafe along the road.
It doesn’t get any better than this, hot chow, hot coffee, new friends and being on the road
Always leave room for Pie and icecream when at Molly’s.
Marines always find one another. Here is Steve he served our beloved Marine Corps from 1953 to 1956 as a Corporal in the Bakery. Everybody loves the Baker you don’t piss off the Baker. What a lucky “MO” military occu, pational skill. His son is also a Marine who worked Nuke security at Naval Weapons station Oackland, California.
You never know who you will meet on the road. It has said the Captain has never met a stranger. Like these cool guys they are truly “Gold Diggers” all geologists who work at the Gold mine ooutside Snowville, Utah. Great people Patriots all of them.
Classic tune
Here we come Idaho
Fantastic driving tunes

Sgt. Edgar Harrell Promotion

It was on July 29, 1945, when Cpl. Edgar Harrell was last promoted to Sgt. of Marines on board the USS Indianapolis.  He could have never known that just 24 hours later his ship would be sunk by a Japanese submarine.  The loss of the Indianapolis  left Sgt. Harrell and his shipmates alone on the open ocean for four days trying to survive.   His survival lead to eight months of hospitals and medical complications  during his recovery.  As a result of the sinking, all the records went to the bottom of the sea along with the ship.   Harrell would later be discharged in February, 1946 as a Corporal.

Marines have a creed that says “Marines Take Care of their Own”  and their motto,  Semper Fidelis “Always Faithful”.  Well almost 73 years to the day the Marines have made good on that order when the promotion was recognized.  By order of the Secretary of the Defense, Secretary of the Navy, the Commandant of the Marine Corps and Senator Bob Corker of Tennessee, the promotion was recognized and made permanent.

Congratulation Sergeant of Marines Edgar Harrell.
